Christmas Day, Part 2.

So my Aunt and Uncle's house is always a fun place to be.
It's a beautiful house nestled on top of a hill, with big windows to see outside.
And the inside shows their personalities perfectly, quirky, whimsical and bright.

And that was Christmas 2011!
Not bad, 2011...Not bad.

The only picture where my eyes are open.

Fa la la la la ........
is it New Years yet?

New Do.

I dip-dyed my hair and what a lovely surprise
that it worked, and I love it.

That is all.

A Headbanger's Christmas - the Best Kind of Christmas.

I am so glad I stumbled upon this video this morning.
This is exactly what inspired Spandex Summer!
Spandex, big hair, and well, a theme.

Even if you're not in to Ozzy Osbourne, you can still
get a laugh from him!
Watch him and Zakk Wylde on Headbanger's Christmas.

P.S. Can someone PLEASE bring back Headbanger's Ball?!
And on regular cable too?

The People that Make Christmas Great.

You can visit the post I did about
last years Christmas party, and now
I finally got around to bringing you this years.
Actually, I wasn't going to post anything at all
because I was chit-chatting and playing hostess too much to
realize, "Spandex Summer needs me!". Plus, I got
a phone call from my sister asking why I didn't post anything about it.

...lazy.

So I bring you the gist of what happened.

I had a Recipe swap/pajama Christmas party at my house,
and here are the recipe's I made:

I made cupcakes similar to these, except
I did red velvet.

I also made this incredible
I'm pretty sure I've been yapping about for weeks now.

Oh, I also made this punch that was so good!
I'm not much of a punch person, but this is definitely worth a try!

Then after everyone tested the food and had a good
chat by the fire with some hot cocoa, we played a few games such as,

Who Am I?: Where a person gets a Christmas character and
describes who they are, whoever got the most right got a present.

The Naughty List: Each person went around and told the
naughtiest 'naughty list' story (clean!) and whoever had the naughtiest got a present.

Christmas trivia: obviously, it was Christmas trivia, and the most
with the right answers, yep, got a present.

I just had to share this. Binx made his appearance, in theme as always.
I think he looks like the Heat Miser in this one. Ha!

I hope everyone has a safe and blessed Christmas!

Fuel for the Week.

First Aid Kit - The Lions Roar

This book  on Joan Jett is pretty ahhhmazing.
Great pictures, and great stories.
I'm very proud to show it off to everyone!

For all of yous who love to be in the kitchen
as much as I do would probably agree that this
compact herb chopper is a must have convenience on hand.

What a better way to ring in the new year than with plans
to take a road trip! And with this personalized map, you can
track where you go and keep it for years to come.

The retro style kitchen timers from apartment 48
are so unique! I want the blue one. No wait- the green.
And the black one.....
Sigh.

Everyone have a wonderful week!
Just think, Christmas is around the corner!

Some Christmas Fun.

This is actually from last year, but since
this blog was made earlier this year, I thought I'd share
with you my Christmas party of 2010.

Last year I decidecd to have a ornament decorating party
with friends and family. We had ugly Christmas sweaters, hot cocoa and a
lot of fun!

Basically for my party, I got a few boxes of medium and large
sized clear ornaments that have the removable top.
I picked up a few little items that would easily fit through the tops of the
ornaments, such as small decorative balls, glitter, fake cranberries and tree twigs,
fake snow, and ribbons.
I also got acryllic paint (because it dries faster) for marbeling effects, etc.
And of course helpful items like straws, glue, paint brushes, and since we were
working with really messy things I chose a plastic table cloth for easyeasyeasy cleanup.
And all in all, after food, drinks and all the decorations, I think I only spent
a little over 60 bucks.

Oh and the ugly christmas sweater? Well it was
like 100% wool and incredibly itchy! So I had to put a thick
turtleneck underneath to help and ended up with a hot flash the whole time.
But other than that? Pretty amazing party!
